as far as renovating, we did a major renovation at this house. I had everything in a three ring binder and took it everywhere with me. My new mantra is “what if everything works out” I Breathe, meditate and share my gratitude thoughts.
I take deep breaths in and out pray! Then tell myself to relax, relate and release. Repeat the serenity prayer! “ God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things that I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Then I go to sleep or take a nap. Be still and know that he is God!
Hearon's strategy is similar to mine. This is how I empty my mind to sleep at night although it should work during the day as well.
I let my mind race for the minute or two as I am settling into bed, arranging the pillow, adjusting the blanket. Once I am comfortable, I think: OK, done.
Then I use a four word mantra as I consciously breathe in and out. This is relatively easy at night as I am ususally pretty exhausted by the time I hit the bed. As Hearon notes, it's tougher during the daytime but it is doable. The body scan is also very helpful for talking yourself down.
My go-to strategy is to count my breaths in cycles of 10, trying to complete 3 cycles without mind-wandering (much more challenging than it may seem!) and to do a 61 point body scan.
A body scan is a great way to come into the present moment. The 61 point version names almost all parts of your body. I do a shorter version (about 20 points) every morning in the 5 minute meditation. I can show you how to do it and send you a script. 😊
You start at the crown of the head and work your way down to the tips of your toes and then back up. One way to do it without worrying about whether or not it is “right” is to just name those parts of the body…down to your toes.

I am tapping into gratitude, thanks Julie

Thank you Kasey, that line from the Serenity Prayer—accepting what I can't change while having the courage to change what I can— ❤️

Good luck, you will master this!
I love the simplicity of "OK, done.

So curious about the 61 point body scan.

How do you remember all 61 or 20 points?
The practice is the path. ✌🏼

Got it. Skip the numbers and focus on body parts. I do something similar. The old “crack an egg on your head” method
